Diana Aguiar Vieira founded the International Conference on Alumni Relations - ICAReAlumni - in 2016. The 2nd edition of this Conference took place at Polytechnic of Porto, ISCAP, 11-12 may 2017.

In the opening session, Diana had the chance to share the story of how ICAReAlumni was born. She also invited the participants to join her dream of making ICAReAlumni garden grow bigger and bigger…

This year one hundred and fifty delegates from 25 different countries enjoyed an enthusiastic learning environment.

Alumni Relations and Employability | 1st ICAReAlumni | Porto, 5 maio 2016

Diana has been passionately dedicated to enhancing graduates’ employability for almost two decades. She started to help graduates in the context of Career Development Offices in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). In the last years she has been developing a more integrated approach linked to Alumni Relations. 

Which skills are valued by employers?

The study “Prepared to work?” identified the skills most valued in the labour market by 800 employers, in Portugal. The most importante skill is analysis and problem solving which includes being able to identify and prioritize problems , ask the right questions to analyze various sides of an issue and demonstrate willingness to question their own ideas and those of others.
